At least for the foreseeable future, this is the only planet we have to live on. We have not taken very good care of it for the last several decades, nor for quite some time before that.  Now the cumulative effects of this lack of care and concern are being felt.

It is in the poorest areas of our planet where the effects are being felt most severely and have been accumulating first and fastest. However, with the ever more frequent fires and flooding, even that is changing, with the effects now being felt anywhere and everywhere. Hopefully it now has our full attention. We need to take action right away. We cannot wait for the next generation to solve the problems or science to save us.
