Parent/Teacher Conferences
So, here we are. Still in the middle of this crazy pandemic, still pushing forward and adhering to our new policies and procedures to keep us all healthy and safe. In keeping with maintaining health/sanitizing protocols and following guidance from CDPHE, we will be conducting Parent/Teacher Conferences via Zoom.
We all work extremely hard every day to keep our kids (and us!) in school because we know that is what is best. As you all know, we are not allowing parents in the building to pick up students, we are not allowing parents to walk and pick students up outside at carline, we are not allowing for extra-curricular activities to take place in our building…all because we don’t want to take the chance of ANYONE being exposed and potentially shut down the school. So, hosting what would be seen as a "mass gathering" for conferences could potentially nullify all the work we have done. Not to mention the logistics of organizing conferences was impossible when speaking in terms of temps of ANY person entering the building, contact tracing efforts, sanitizing between families, etc.
At the end of the day, it is not ideal, but feel it is what is best for the community at large. So, what will happen now is this: You will be receiving an email from your child's teacher(s) inviting you to sign up via Sign Up Genius for a conference time. That being said, teachers will only be reaching out to families that are new, families that have diagnosed students, or families that they feel the student is struggling so far this year. If your teacher does not request a conference from you, and you would still like one, please reach out to the teacher to organize this.
Conference times will remain the same; Thursday from 7:30am - 5:30pm with lunch from 11:30am - 12:30pm and Friday from 7:30 – 11:30am. Teachers will be in contact with you via your new family STM Gmail account to communicate details regarding conferences to you.
Thank you for your patience and understanding once again!
