Welcome back
It's so good to be starting this semester with you! If you are just now joining us for Flocknote, here are some updates for the semester:
- SAY will be doing a mix of virtual and in-person ministry this Fall
- All in-person ministry will be socially distanced and follow CDC guidelines for COVID-19
- Each youth will be part of a Discipleship Group (intentional small group) that meets weekly
- All parents are expected to attend a monthly meeting at St Anthony's on the first Wednesday of the month
- Please register your child on the parish website and sign them up for Flocknote

SAY Kickoff
This past Sunday, we celebrated our semester kickoff at St Anthony's with a game of human foosball and some time in Discipleship Groups! It was so encouraging to see our youth after such a long semester. We also spent some time catching up and coordinating the Discipleship Groups we will be meeting with for the rest of the Fall. Each group even had the opportunity to check-out the facilities at St Anthony's that we will be using to meet in person, and the youth got really excited about the idea of making those spaces their own

The 3 Discipleship Groups that developed from this Sunday's Kickoff are as follows:
Adreanna & Becka's group (mostly upperclassman girls)

Next Week
We will be diving into our first week of SAY by talking about the Kerygma - the basic message of Salvation. If you attended the Parent Meeting last week, Beth gave us a quick reflection on the Kerygma. The general idea is:
God created us to share in His own blessed life, but through the temptation and pride of the Fall, we chose to betray God's love. However, God chose to offer us a way back to Him - a Savior - so He spent hundreds of years preparing us for the coming of this Savior. This Savior who brings us back to God is Jesus, who came into the world as a human (just like us) and died for our sins. On the third day, Jesus rose from the dead and invited us back into His own blessed life with God the Father. By grace of our Baptism, we are able to enter into this life with Jesus and walk alongside Him as we make our way towards heaven.
