We all know this to be true--we can’t give what we don’t have. Yet, how often do we still try to do so? I say that I want to share my experience of Jesus with my family and friends, but I fail to first spend time with Jesus myself. I think that I want to live as a disciple of Jesus, but I don’t take the time to learn how to do so. I believe that I’m called to serve, but quickly realize service divorced from connection with Jesus is basically busy work. The message is clear--if I truly want to share Jesus with others, I must intentionally grow my friendship with Him. Daily and weekly routines (devotional reading, reflecting on Scripture passages, Attending Mass) help me connect with Jesus. What helps you? -Linda
Reading 1: Isaiah 55:6-9
Seek the LORD while he may be found, call him while he is near.
Let the scoundrel forsake his way,
and the wicked his thoughts;
let him turn to the LORD for mercy;
to our God, who is generous in forgiving.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD.
As high as the heavens are above the earth,
so high are my ways above your ways
and my thoughts above your thoughts.
