We have sent you an email each of the last several days with the intention of "ringing the bell." We want to make sure you are aware the time has come for OCF to - Rise Up and Build!
Meanwhile, throughout the week I have been thinking/praying about what advice I should give to prepare us for this next phase. The question I've asked the Lord is the title of this email:
How do we prepare ourselves for Sunday (and beyond)?
I believe the best answer I can give you is this one.
Pray. Listen. Act.
It's remarkable how simple yet profound our lives can be when we order ourselves around this pattern.
So, whether you are:
- new to OCF;
- been here since the beginning;
- something in-between;
- (or even if you have moved on to another congregation - near or far away)
Here's what I'm asking you to do.
1. Pray - maybe something like this:
"Lord, OCF is embarking on a new journey. They are going to need lots of help (especially with that loony Pastor Jeff in charge)!! I have gifts to offer. I have financial resources. I have time. I can pray. How would you like me to partner with OCF?
2. Listen - God will offer you direction. It might be His "still small voice" - a voice that sounds a lot like your conscience. Or, He might give you a booming response that rocks your world. But either way, He will respond.
3. Act - Act in accordance with the leading of our Good and Beautiful God. Simple, sweet obedience.
We are so excited and thankful for this season and for each of you! We hope to see you on Sunday (and beyond)!
Grace and peace,
Pastor Jeff
