Oh the excitement this week! I hear some of you were quizzed about the Louisiana Purchase! Hurray for the kids that could go home and talk to you about it and hurray to those of you who had some correct answers!
We also received our crayfish yesterday! Right now they are adapting to their environment outside a box, next week we will begin learning and "messing with" them, learning about their structures, functions... Some kids have asked if they HAVE to touch them...the answer is no, although I will encourage them to touch and pick them up as we move forward, but they are not required to do that. Please be aware that the crayfish pincers can pinch hard and even though we go over every day correct ways to pick them up, usually every year we have at least one person get pinched. I will let you know if this ever is the case with your child.
We will take our Chapter 1 math test on Monday. We reviewed today and will review some more on Monday before the test. Feel free to make up some problems for your child to practice with over the weekend! They have the chapter review pages in their mail so you can have some examples of what will be on the test.
Midterm reports as well as FAST test results will come home with your child next Wed. in their mail.
Everyone have a great weekend and enjoy the weather! Mrs. Sheetz
