Catechetical Sunday Blessing
Annually, on the third Sunday in September, the Church celebrates Catechetical Sunday.
At all Masses this weekend, a virtual and in-person blessing goes out to all those in our parish who have taken on the responsibility of passing on the faith. This year especially, we are reminded that parents and families are taking on bigger roles as teachers and catechists for their children. This blessing extends to all parents, family members, guardians, catechists, small group leaders, ministry coordinators, and core team members who pass on the faith to our children, youth, and adults at St. Michael Parish.
Lord God, source of all wisdom and knowledge, you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to live among us and to proclaim his message of faith, hope, and love to all nations. In your goodness, bless our sisters and brothers who have offered themselves as Catechists for Your Church. Support the parents and guardians who are entrusted with the special role of First Catechists to the children they love. Give them strength during the times of greatest difficulty and help them recognize the little joys that are part of each day. Amen.
