Dear parishioners,
As we continue to adapt to new circumstances, I would like to update you on expansion capacity from 25% to 50%. First, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone for complying with the directives from the Archdiocese and the State of Texas. As you may have heard, Gov. Abbott is opening to 50%-75%, depending on the type of business. Our parish has been open for 25% occupancy since May 12th. This week we will look at ways to remain safe and allow more seating to be available for all Mass times. We have implemented three new Mass times to accommodate everyone: Sunday 8:00 a.m., Tuesday noon, and Thursday noon. Cardinal Dinardo is allowing, but not requiring churches to open to 50% effective the weekend of September 26-27. It depends on the configuration of each Church. All parishes must continue to comply with the following health and safety protocols:
1. All who enter the Church must wear a face mask to cover their noses and mouths
2. Social distancing of (a minimum distance of 6 feet) must be maintained within groups and individuals who are not of the same household
3. Churches are to be cleaned and sanitized after all Masses
4. Hand Sanitizer is used upon entering Church and immediately before Holy Communion
5. Holy Communion is distributed in hand by Priests and Deacons only (no reception of Communion on the tongue)
Thank you to all the volunteers who help keep our parish safe and sanitized before and after each Mass.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Eli Lopez
Pastor
