Dear Parishioners,
Since my last email, there are two important updates.
1. Starting this weekend, Bishop Hying has reinstated the Sunday Mass obligation. As I said last weekend, that the Sunday Mass is an obligation reflects its essential nature for us as Christians. Nevertheless, there still may be a compelling reason for some individuals to refrain from attending Sunday Mass. In particular, some may make the prudential judgment that attending Mass would pose a greater risk than normal (either to themselves, to their families, or to other with whom they have contact). This obligation can be fulfilled by attending a Vigil Mass on Saturdays (4:30 PM in Lodi, & 6:30 PM in Dane) or Mass on Sundays (8:00 AM in Dane, & 10:00 AM in Lodi).
2. This Sunday, September 27th, is the Parish Festival Dinner. A drive-thru carry-out swiss steak & ham meal will be available from 11:30 AM until 3:30 PM at St. Patrick in Lodi. Please stop by and support the parish. Volunteers are still needed, so please sign up if you're able.
If you have any questions, especially about the Sunday Mass obligation, please let me know.
God bless,
Fr. Joseph Baker
Pastor
