Dear Parishioners,
As you may know, earlier this week many of the priests of the diocese were gathered together for our annual Priest Assembly. Today we were informed that one of the retired priests present tested positive for COVID-19. I personally did not have any contact with this priest, not even in passing. I have not tested positive for COVID-19, and I don’t have any reason to think I have contracted COVID-19, but I want to be transparent and exercise an abundance of caution for everyone’s health and well-being. With this in mind, in consultation Public Health Madison & Dane County, the diocese has asked all priests present at the Assembly to take certain mitigating measures this weekend. While Public Health Madison & Dane County believes that it is safe for us to celebrate Mass, to be extra cautious I will not be distributing Holy Communion, nor will I be greeting you before or after Mass. I have included the diocese's press release if you'd like to read it. Thank you for your understanding.
God bless,
Fr. Joseph Baker
Pastor
