An argument arose among the disciples about which of them was the greatest. (Luke 9:46)
We still haven’t learned, have we? We still argue about which church/denomination is the “greatest.” We argue about who is the greatest candidate, the greatest race, the greatest country, the greatest political party, the greatest state/town, and we make others inferior to us in these arguments if they’re an immigrant, or have different colored skin, or are poor, or are on food stamps, or on Medicaid, or have different sexual preferences than us, or vote differently, or worship differently. We still haven’t learned, have we? We are ALL children of God and the only thing that is truly great is the LORD! We are all sinners, but God loves us ALL infinitely regardless of our sins, our appearance, our voting record, our nation of origin, our citizenship status, our bank account, whether we get food off a truck for free or whether we pay full price! The greatest is the LORD, so let us follow that greatness and love and forgive and accept all instead of trying to make others lower than us and ourselves greater than others! Amen!
