Nita Baier (pronounced By-er). I’m a retired first and second-grade teacher from Council Rock Primary School. My husband Dan and I like to hike and kayak in the Adirondacks and cheer on the St Bonaventure men’s basketball team. Go Bonnie’s! We have a grandson, Will, who is turning one this October. My favorite thing is teaching and learning about God’s love and our Catholic Faith.

   Let me introduce myself, my name is Robin Samper, and I will be your faith formation teacher this year. This is my tenth year teaching faith formation, but my first teaching 7^th grade!!!  Before this year, I taught 1^st grade, yes, this will be quite a change!  But lucky for me, my youngest daughter is a 7^th grader!

Speaking of family, I have been married for nineteen years to my husband Nicolas, we have two daughters, Cecilia, 15, and Lucia, 12. 

   I am so excited about teaching this year, not only because of the grade change but also because I think it is SO important, with everything that is going on in the world, that we stay connected to each other and to our faith.  If staying connected means zoom meetings, so be it! 

   The program we use is called “Christ our Life.”  As a parent and a teacher, I am very impressed with how different concepts are taught and the activities the program provides. I will be using the program as a springboard for discussions, and hope to have many enlightening dialogues throughout the year.

The Dean family is incredibly active in our parish community and continue to inspire many with their volunteerism and support of faith formation. I am a cradle Catholic who moved from the Diocese of Buffalo and joined OLQP Parish in 1995.  I am a widow and a grandmother.  My grandsons live with my daughter in England and I have a son who lives locally here in Greece.

Over the years, I have taught various grade levels in Faith Formation and worked with adults, as well.   I have found that I have truly enjoyed engaging with Jr. High and High School students.  They have taught me so much and their questions always keep me on my toes.   I have often reminded them that I do not have all the answers, but I certainly know how to track them down.

I look forward to an exciting and interesting year!
