Sunday Mass Moves Indoors

4:00 PM Mass outdoors weather- permitting. If the weather is bad, the outdoor Mass will move into the Hall with its more limited seating capacity.

Because we have enough priests available this weekend, we are able to offer Masses in both the Parish Hall and the Church at 9:30 and 11:30 AM, if needed.
Enrollment of 2021 Confirmation Candidates
Enrollment of the Confirmation candidates, postponed from last week, is this Saturday at the 4:00 PM Mass. 14 young men and women are enrolling to begin the final parts of their journey to Confirmation in 2021. Pray for these young people as they continue their formation in the Catholic faith.
Blessing of the Animals

What is the difference between Mass and a Communion Service? Communion Services are led by a deacon or lay minister and include the Biblical readings for the day and the distribution of the Eucharist. They do not include special grace of the consecration or the Eucharistic Prayers and are shorter than Mass. They do not meet the ordinary obligation to attend Sunday Mass.
What if I cannot attend Mass? How do I meet my weekly obligation to attend? Archbishop Lori and the bishop of Harrisburg have dispensed (released) all Catholics in their jurisdictions from the Sunday Mass obligation through the end of 2020, due to the pandemic. Those unable to attend Mass on Sunday can still receive grace by attending a weekday Mass.
Will worship aids be available? An electronic worship aid similar to the Outdoor Mass worship aid is posted on the parish website for use at all Masses. Music is not included since it may vary between Masses and the congregation isn’t supposed to sing.
What if someone forgets their mask? Masks and a hand sanitation station are available near the entrances to the Parish Center and the church.
Are the church and hall sanitized between services? The parish with the help of the Archdiocese has a long-acting, sanitizing spray that is used throughout the buildings. This spray is able to provide protection without sanitizing between each service.
How are collections handled? There are collection bins at the doors to both the church and the hall. Place contributions there or pay electronically using the Giving page on the parish website.
What if we have to use the restroom? The restrooms in the hall are open. Only one person at a time is permitted to use them.

Operation Christmas Child Update. Based on the limitations from the corona virus, St. Mary’s will not be participating in the Operation Christmas Child, Shoe Box program this year. Because of the virus and all of the disasters, the program is very important this year. You may fill your own shoe box and take to a local collection location, such as William Watters Church. (I will have their schedule soon). You can also check the web site for other drop off locations or build a shoe box online. Samaritanspurse.org/buildonline.
Where Can I Get a Flu Shot?
UM Upper Chesapeake Health is offering free community flu shot clinics and/or partnering with local organizations to help promote and support additional community flu vaccination efforts in Harford County.
While UMMS clinics are free, flu shots also are typically available through primary care providers and local pharmacies, though they may have a cost associated with them.

Catholics in Maryland and Pennsylvania are dispensed from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass.
St. Mary's makes Sunday Mass at 9:30 AM available online.

Masses for weddings and funerals are permitted outside, or inside with limited attendance. Please check with the parish office for further guidance.
Canceled Events and Activities
The parish buildings are still closed to the public except for religious services and education. All public events and most parish activities are canceled or postponed.
Sacraments
- Contact the Parish Office to arrange for Baptisms and the Sacrament of the Sick (Anointing).
- The Sacrament of the Sick for in-patients is available through the hospital chaplains.
