Parish Update -- October 9, 2020
Dear Parishioners of St. Joseph and Corpus Christi:
I just wanted to offer you a few updates of things going on around the parish.
Handicap doors -- Last week some handicap doors were placed on the East entrance of the building. One part was the wrong size and it had to be delivered. We are now waiting for the part to arrive and be installed. The company installing the doors have said it will be before 10 AM on Monday.
Master Plan -- We have contracted with Cory Gallo, a professor of Landscape Architecture at MSU. His specialization is campus and institutional planning. We began this process at the beginning of the year and then Covid happened. Last night we began the process again. Next weekend, October 16 after the 12:05 PM Senior Citizen's Mass and after every Mass on Sunday, October 18, Cory will be available with a presentation and to receive feedback from parishioners as we discuss the future of our physical plant and campus here at St. Joseph. Please consider coming to offer some feedback. If you know of anyone who won't be able to make it due to Covid, please let them know this is happening. We would like to get their feedback as well.
Game Day Parking -- We are providing Game-Day parking on October 17 for the Texas A&M game. Spots are $20.00. These funds provide for our Youth and Campus Ministry.
Congratulations to Meg and Connor Ferguson who had a baby boy -- Jonathan Connor on October 1. Meg has begun her maternity leave and will return to be with us again on January 1. Thank you all for the prayers and support.
Congratulations also to Erin and Frank Smith who's child, Larkin Daniel, will be baptized this weekend.
and Congratulations to Anastasia Kasper and Harrison Warren, who will be married at St. Joseph tomorrow.
Our Sympathies to Mariano Lopez, on the death of his sister in Spain, Hilaria Lopez. Please keep Mariano Lopez and Ana in your prayers and for the repose of his sister's soul.
RCIA -- Remember it's not too late to join RCIA. If you have a friend or someone you know who is considering the Catholic Church, please invite them to participate on Wednesday's at 6:30.
Religious Education -- Religious Education has begun between the Masses on Sunday for grades 3-8. We are trying hard to maintain a safe environment for our children.
Food Pantry -- The Food Pantry this month is being rescheduled for October 23 and 24 due to the hurricane this coming weekend. Hopefully, we'll have better weather on those dates.
Peace,
Fr. Jason
