May, the month when we honor our mothers. What better mother to honor than our mother Mary!?
To honor Mary, we will be doing a May Crowning THIS SUNDAY, May 7th, at the 9am Mass. The May Crowning will consist of high school girls carrying roses to the statue of Mary. They will process down the center isle as Mass begins. One lucky girl will be crowing Mary with the crown of roses! That's all there is too it. Then back to your normal Sunday Mass routines with your family after you carry up your rose. Easy peasy!
Would any high school girls of our parish want to participate? If so, please contact me SOON and we will make sure you have a rose to carry to Mary. If carrying a rose, please meet in Tobin Hall 5-10 minutes before Mass begins.
It will be neat to see and even neater to be involved in! The more girls we have, the greater the impact you will make. What a amazing display of honor we could give in this simple way!
Also, we would love your beautiful voice if you'd choose to help lead the first song of Mass! I know Julia Fritz will be singing and I also know that we have many other beautiful singers in our parish!
Please note that if you'd rather sing, then you will not be able to take a rose up to Mary at the beginning of Mass. (Considering both will be happening at the same time.) You must also arrive to the church by 7:30 for a half hour of run through of the song. I believe prayer of the Rosary begins at 8am so practice will be done by then.
Both carrying up a rose or leading in song are great ways to honor our mother Mary!
Please let me know if you are interested in either carrying up a rose or singing!
Thank you,
Nikole Eichelberger
