Attention all women in the diocese!
The Belleville Diocesan Council of Catholic Women plan to hold their annual convention, but within the safety guidelines established for this pandemic! Our theme is: "Connecting With God in a Virtual World." Date: Wednesday, October 14th, or any day after that! The convention will be totally recorded for viewing in part or in whole as you have time.
Attendees will learn about the work of women in the diocese, and see the presidents who are leading the efforts. There will be an opening prayer service, an educational session on the BDCCW/NCCW, and a special message from Father Steve Pautler, our Spiritual Moderator. Jenifer Sage! (Coordinator of Evangelization at St. Patrick Parish in Dixon, Illinois) will give a special presentation on Catholic meditation; teaching us how to develop an even closer relationship with Christ. When Christ is alive in our hearts, we can find the energy to learn new ways to stay close, and help others, during these times of social isolation. In addition, there will be a commercial for our Box of Joy service project. Learn how a few common items can become the best Christmas present a needy child ever received. Last year we provided presents for 375 children in under-developed countries.
All convention sessions will be located on our website at https://dps.diobelle.org/2020-convention-info starting October 14th.The convention Mass with The Most Reverend Bishop Michael McGovern will be live-streamed at 12:15. The link will be on the web-page. To get the richest convention experience, consider scheduling some time when you can review all the content in its entirety. Since the whole event will be recorded you will not be pressed for time. We hope that all our ladies in the diocese will take time to participate by October 31st and at least by Thanksgiving!
