Announcements:
Bookkeeper/Business Manager: St. Joseph Campus is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper/Business Manager for the entire campus: Parish, School, and Daycare. The position requires 25 hours a week including daily accounting functions, payroll, accounts payable, and reconciliation of monthly bank statements. As Business Manager employee will develop and oversee a preventative maintenance plan for buildings, grounds, and facilities. The right candidate may work a flexible schedule and needs good organizational and management skills, as well as a working knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Outlook. If interested, please apply in the parish office.
Weekend Schedule: No Confessions this weekend; Saturday the 17th. Fr Richard Zanetti will preside at the Masses on Saturday at 5 pm and Sunday at 12 noon. Msgr Joe Bixenman will preside at the 9:30 am Mass. I will be away for the weekend visiting my family in Brownfield for a family event planned several months ago.
Parish Pastoral Council: We are seeking new members for the Parish Pastoral Council. Soon, we will begin a discernment process. If you are interested, please call the parish and give us your name and contact information. The ideal candidate is relatively new to the parish, younger, has children in St Joseph’s Daycare, School or the Family Faith Formation program, and is committed to the parish mission of welcoming all God’s children and making disciples. I am seeking to consult 80% of parishioner who are not being heard, instead of focusing on the 20% who are heavily involved and already influencing my decisions. I wish to bridge the gap and discern how to pastor better all parishioners of St Joseph’s community.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration: Having met with some of the leaders of the parish we have agreed to continue with the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the 12th and 13th of December. To honor the protocol in place for the pandemic, we will encourage parishioners to attend any special liturgical events to pray, sing, and offer flowers to Our Lady of Guadalupe. As a parish we will also incorporate the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe into all weekend liturgies.
Matachines: In preparation for the celebration the parish Matachines are seeking new members. If you are interested, please call the office with your name and contact information.
United Catholic Appeal: UCA pledges for the current year have met only 52% of our quota.
- 45 families from the parish have already pledged.
- 32 families who pledged in prior years have not pledged this year.
- 10 new families pledged this year.
We are still in need of almost $20,000 in pledges. I will reach out personally to families in the parish to help us meet the quota beginning with the 32 families who pledged in the past and may not have had an opportunity to pledge again this year.
Remember: Please, do not let down your guard: Wear your masks, social distance, and wash your hands with soap and water often. Hand washing is more effective than using hand sanitizer.
