Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Jesus says in today’s gospel; “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God, have faith also in me.” What comforting words especially to those who are experiencing difficulty and suffering in life. Saint John Paul II wrote an encyclical on suffering. This is what he says about suffering: “We could say that suffering is present in order to unleash love in the human person. The world of human suffering unceasingly calls for, so to speak, another world: the world of human love; And in a certain sense man owes to suffering that unselfish love which stirs in his heart and actions.” We are the ones who are called to unleash love when we encounter suffering - to bring the comfort and love of Jesus. In this coming week, let us be attentive to those encountering difficulty and suffering in our community and let’s unleash love upon them.
This weekend, our transitional deacons will be preaching at our parish for the last time before they are ordained priests. Let’s pray earnestly for them as they approach the day of ordination; that the Lord would fill them with joy and strength for their future ministries.
We also give thanks today for all mothers and pray for God’s abundant blessings upon them. Do something nice for them today!
God bless,
Fr. Tony
