FAST Assessment Results
The 2020-2021 FAST assessment results are headed your way via snail mail. These were sent on Friday so you should be receiving this document in the next day or so, if you haven't already. Included in the envelope are two pieces of information:
- Letter explaining the FAST assessment
- Your child's FAST report
I ask that you please take a minute to read the letter and/or watch the quick video of an explanation of the assessment. Some important notes are that we realized there would likely be an impact from the 6+ months that we were away from the classroom and have begun some activities and intervention to ensure we are filling the gap with material that was missed. This can especially be seen for the 1st and 2nd graders as they missed key early literacy skills in kindergarten and 1st grade.
The new reading initiative in your students classroom is one piece that has been implemented thus far. The research and data will show the importance of reading consistently, additionally, we hope that you find this time beneficial for you to sit down with your child and check in.
Please let me know of any questions but also know that we will use this data piece to enhance the work we are doing while not solely basing our decisions on this, we will be reviewing other data points in support of what is happening on a daily basis.

Conferences begin this week!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Conference sign up begins today; click below to get signed up! All fall conferences will be done virtually through Zoom; we are sad that we will not be able to welcome you into the building, but to continue our efforts to keep the students health and safe, we feel it is best to proceed with Zoom as our communication tool. Please know that we are hopeful to hold spring conferences in person.
Conference times are below:
- Thursday, October 22nd from 1:00pm-7:00pm (early dismissal day)
- Tuesday, October 27th from 4:00pm-7:00pm
Once you have scheduled your times, you will receive a Zoom link for the teacher you are meeting with. We ask for your patience as you wait in the waiting room; the scheduled teacher will allow you into the conference when it is your time and the prior conference has concluded.
If you could please make sure your Zoom account has your name, this will be very helpful to the teachers who will let you into the conference.
