The Covid19 Crisis has devastated our Parish Finances and Resources. Currently, Mass attendance is 25% of last year and Collections are at 50% (Special thanks to all who continue to support the parish online and in person). The result of this is that we are operating at an unsustainable DEFICIT of $8000 PER WEEK ( It was $10,000 per week during the Summer). Reduction of parish staffing has already begun.
Please review your support of our Parish and consider making an online donation (preferably recurring) today. The simplest- and easiest- way to make a donation is here on our website.
Additional options such as Paypal and Venmo (on phones) are available at https://www.spcolr.org/ways-to-donate. Also, the QR code for donations is attached at the bottom of this note.
The President of the Parish Finance Council, Jane Mancino , will publish her Annual Financial Report for the year ended August 31st. 2020 after a special meeting of the Council next week.
On a brighter note:
We currently have 5 Sunday Masses and 3 weekday Masses. We hope to resume the Sunday evening Mass in Advent. Attendance at Mass is well below the 25% allowed. Average attendance at Sunday Mass is about 50 at each Mass. There is comprehensive sanitizing and social distancing at all times. Livestreaming of Masses, Baptism, Weddings, Funerals and Special Events is well received.
To comply with Covid-19 Restrictions, we are offering 6 First Communions and 3 Confirmation Ceremonies in October and November. They are a source of great joy and comfort to us all.
CCD Registration is currently at 180 and we hope to get over 200 children enrolled this year. Special thanks to Maiwenn and our Catechists for embracing Zoom which allows us to bring weekly classes of Faith Formation to the children of the parish. Fr. John is also offering RCIA classes for adults on Zoom.
We wait with joyful anticipation for the day when our entire parish community can once again cross the "Threshold of Hope" that is our Parish Church of St. Peter's. Your assistance now will allow us to plan for Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year.
May the Lord keep us in the palm of His Hands.
Thank You,
Fr. Jarlath Quinn
Pastor
