SAFE SMART RESTART NEWS: UPDATE
Elyria Catholic will continue to move forward with our hybrid plan as we enter the second quarter. We are reviewing all of the responses to the Quarter 2 Educational Environment Choice that you have completed so that we can properly provide a safe environment for our community. If you have not completed that form, please do so by Oct. 30. Please know that we will keep you updated throughout the quarter of any changes.
Please continue to talk with your students about the importance of wearing masks, safe distancing and good hygiene practices. Thank you for helping to keep people safe and to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the EC community and beyond.

Picture Retakes Rescheduled- Picture retake day is rescheduled for grades 9-11 for Wednesday, November 11.
- If your student is fully remote or has last name with A-L and plan to have their picture taken, please email Mrs. Strippy at strippy@elyriacatholic.com. She will notify teachers that your child is excused first period due to being here promptly at 8:00 a.m.
- Students with last names M-Z and are getting retakes, they will be called down to the Auditorium.
- To order retakes please visit mylifetouch.com and use ID# EVTTBGHNQ. Please bring the original order packets to retakes.

ENGAGEMENT NEWS:
All students have signed for and received their 20 raffle tickets to sell.
Thank you to all who have requested more tickets. Students should bring their sold raffle tickets and payment during the turn-in period from Nov. 2 through Nov. 13th. Students who sell all of their tickets are eligible for a drawing for a set of Apple Air Pods Pro on both Nov. 9 and Nov. 16. Better chances to win if you turn your tickets in early! Members of the Philanthropy & Engagement Committee will be in the cafeteria during lunch periods to collect the tickets. Thank you in advance for your support!
CAMPUS MINISTRY NEWS:
Hispanic Heritage Month
To commemorate the recent Hispanic Heritage Month, we will be setting up a Dia de los Muertos altar to remember Mexico's Day of the Dead. Students are encouraged to email pictures of their deceased loved ones to add to the display. Pictures can be emailed to slanzola@elyriacatholic.com.

The Nord Center
In order to meet the needs of our students, The Counseling Department will be joined by a counselor from The Nord Center. Grace Ford will be available to virtually meet with students on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please contact Mr. Kleban or Miss Keppler if you feel that your student(s) would benefit from this service.

HOMECOMING NEWS:
- Due to the weather forecast for Friday, our Spirit Week Rally will be moving indoors to the Coliseum at 2:15 p.m. Because we will be indoors, we need to limit our attendees. ONLY SENIOR remote students will be allowed to come in for the rally. If you are a remote senior who will be attending, please enter through the Poplar doors of the Coliseum for a temperature check. Parents of the ten members of Homecoming Court are still invited.
- We are hoping to stream the event on Facebook Live using the Elyria Catholic High School page so that all students at home, and our entire community, can watch.
- Underclassmen will be in their homerooms during this time and will be able to watch the stream on Facebook. They also will be completing some Spirit Week activities.
