Book of Remembrance
At the back of each church you will find a binder titled "Book of Remembrance.” Please write the names of any family members or friends you would like remembered in the Masses of the Days of the Dead--All Saints Day, Sunday, Nov. 1 and All Souls Day, Monday, Nov. 2. You can also email your requests
Crystalline Luncheon - CANCELED
Since we are still in a pandemic, there will be no Crystalline Luncheon this November. But we plan to bring it back next fall! Keep thinking of some great table decorating ideas and practice them at your own home this year!

A thank you from the St. Mary’s Parish Councils: We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to Kellie Trudeau for her time and dedication to St. Mary of the Rosary parish. Under her direction she brought us into the 21st century. She organized the office, maintained our bulletin, and welcomed all who needed a warm smile and kind word. She always responded quickly and professionally. She inspired Mike Coleman to continue promoting our 2019 golf outing when he was ready to write it off. Our Crystalline Luncheon was also a huge success due to her organizational skills. Now that her husband Joe is overseas, she has elected to be a stay at home mom. Thankfully home is Chewelah. So when you see her out and about say thanks.
Annual Catholic Appeal 2020
Last weekend was ACA Commitment Weekend for the Diocese of Spokane. The goals set up by the Diocese for each of our parishes are:
St. Mary’s (Chewelah) $35,137
Sacred Heart (Springdale) $2,936
Holy Ghost (Valley) $5,994.

$9,875 (28%)
$1,425 (23%)
$500 (13%)
If each parish household participates, we can surely reach our goal. Once each parish surpasses their goal, 100% of the overage is returned back to the parish. By now you should have received the ACA materials in the mail (although there was a Post Office delay) from Bishop Daly and we ask that you respond with a generous spirit. Mail in your ACA envelopes or drop them off in the collection basket for us to return to the Diocese of Spokane. You can also go online to dioceseofspokane.org/give
Safe Environment Annual Training Now Available
The Safe Environment Annual Online Training Update is now available to those who volunteer with children under 18 in our parish. Please log in to your VIRTUS account and complete the training. If you have any issues, contact that office. Thank you!

Father's Corner Week of Oct. 25
Do you want to get to heaven? First don’t assume you’ll get there, that’s the deadly sin of pride. People who do that forget they need a Savior to get there. Second, ask how much you love God. If you’re not willing to go to mass if it isn’t at your own parish you’re in deeper trouble than you realize because chances are you see your parish as a social club and no longer worship Our Lord. There should at least be the desire to go to mass if for some reason you can’t. Pray every day. IF you love someone you desire to spend time with them daily. You also want to listen to what they have to say which is why learning your faith is so important. You can’t please someone if you don’t know what they desire. –Fr. Mike

Saturdays at St. Mary's 2:30-3:30 pm
NEW Wednesdays at St. Mary's 5:30-6:30 pm
Fr. Mike is now available for Confessions every Saturday from 2:30-3:30 pm at St. Mary of the Rosary, and every Wednesday at 5:30-6:30 pm . If confessions are face-to-face, please wear a face covering. You can also schedule Confession by appointment. Contact Fr. Mike at 935-4106 or email mishida@dioceseofspokane.org
Sacred Heart Saturday Mass Schedule
There will be no Mass at Sacred Heart Oct. 24
Mass is celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays of the month at at 6:00 pm.
