Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
“You shall love the Lord, your God, with all
your heart...soul...and mind. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sad'ducees, they came together. And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question, to test him. "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets."
In response to a question from some Pharisees who wanted to trip
him up, Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all
your heart...soul...and mind. You shall love your neighbor as your-
self.” These are the two great commandments.
These two commandments harken back to the moral law in the old testament and form the foundation for how we are to Love God and treat our neighbors. Kind of a trickle down theory, flowing from the love of God thru us to our neighbors. rw

St. Martin's:
As we continue to celebrate Mass, we are reminded of the protocols issued by the Bishop concerning social distancing and wearing of mask. Perhaps we have become too comfortable in some of these areas.
- If you are not feeling well, you should not attend Mass. (We will offer the opportunity to have one's temperature checked before Mass.)
- Arrive early. Let me say that again; Arrive early. Entering and exiting church will take longer while maintaining social distancing. Hand sanitizer will be available at the door.
- There should be no visiting in the church, at the doorway or in the parking lot. We must maintain social distancing.
- Each Parishioner must wear their own mask at all times, the exception to this would be receiving Holy Communion.
- Collection will be in baskets at the doors. There will be no Offertory Procession
- All missalettes, hymnals and prayer cards have been removed and single use song sheets will be provided.
- Maintain Social Distancing at all times. Follow the Ushers' instructions entering and exiting the church.
- Families will be allowed to sit together; others will be seated as to maintain 6 feet of separation. At Communion and at the end of Mass please wait for the ushers direction. This will keep us from bunching up at the alter and exits.
- Receiving Holy Communion will be in the hand and not the mouth. Hands should be flat. No one is to wear gloves during reception of Holy Communion.
- There will be no dialogue between the minister of communion and the person receiving communion. Instead, the Priest will say, "Body of Christ." Everyone will respond, "Amen" in unison.
Please continue to pray for all affected by the Corona Virus, those afflicted, those most vulnerable, for those tending to their care and those that have died. Pray for those in our diocese that have tested positive for the virus, especially Phil Whitson, Clifford Kreitz, Marrisa Woolsey and Isabel Vega.
We are still in need of volunteers to clean the Church during the months of Nov. and December. This would include a weekly cleaning of the Church and sanitizing after each weekend Mass. Please Prayerfully consider this ministry. Sign up sheet is in the Church.
We change time Nov. 1st, next Sunday. Before going to bed on Saturday night we can set our clocks back 1 hr. (Fall Back) or our smart devices do it automatically.
