The school year is over in three short weeks. I must say, I learn more each day and I am thankful for the community that I am surrounded by for their support, trust, and helping hand. A lot has been accomplished this school year so I have decided to create a Top 14 (I couldn’t pick just 10) List for Our Lady:
14. School year starting with a roll-out of the red carpet to 109 students and all were shining in the light.
13. Hosting the Keg and Cork event and introducing the Chili Cook-Off.
12. Our students meeting our Rake-a-Thon goal. I received pies in the face and they received a day off of school.
11. Celebrating our school community at the Starlight Gala and raising over double our goal.
10. Our foreign exchange student, Nicho, from Guatemala, joining us for 3 months.
9. Being the hands and feet of Jesus with our monthly service projects: Operation Christmas Child, Food Drives, Rake-a-Thon, Jump Rope for Heart, Lake Minnetonka Shores, Yard Clean-Up, Family Service Nights during Lent and Advent, Sharing Jesus with Jubilee Bags, and Prayer Walls.
8. Hosting a dance for the area Catholic School middle school kids. #wedanced
7. Starting our monthly Family Fun Nights. Who knew adults still enjoyed a good grade school scooter ride?
6. Field trips to Underwater World (the kitchen smelled so bad), Arboretum, and Old Log Theater. Middle School overnight experiences: Science Museum, Baker Park, Wolf Ridge, and Chicago Mission Trip.
5. Mass of the Holy Spirit at the Saints Stadium.
4. Graduating 3 wonderful 8th Graders … in 2.5 weeks.
3. Celebrating our amazing teachers and staff. They are awesome!
2. Welcoming new families to our village: 38, to be exact!
1. Furthering the Kingdom of God each day!
Everyday I hear the joy of our students playing outside at recess; I will miss this sound during the summer months. What a wonderful example our children are to us. “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!” -Psalm 98:4
