Every year in November, we try to do a service project to collect items to send care packages for members of the military and first responders. If these projects are done at this time, (right around Veterans Day) the donated materials usually arrive by around Christmas. It is usually a great time to get a sign of appreciation for those serving us overseas!
We can't work on this service project together this year so there is no collection of items nor packing date. What we can do instead is offer you the information for your own household to make a care packet for Operation Gratitude.
The invitation we have for you to do at home this weekend is to do a service project showing gratitude for those who serve us overseas and hear at home. There are lots of ways to serve from making a hand made item or card to donating extra Halloween candy.
The website for how to engage in this service project is
https://www.operationgratitude.com/ but the webpage has so many ways to get involved, it may be helpful to direct you to a few specific links.
