DON'T WE ALL WANT TO BE MORE HOLY?
Dear Parents/Families,
It was such a beautiful day yesterday--welcoming your children to the banquet of our Lord! I'm sure as the children received their Sacrament of First Holy Communion, you also found yourself reflecting on your own spiritual journey.
As parents, we bring our children to faith. We are their models and they watch and learn from us, even when we don't realize it! However, there are times in which we may feel less than equipped for this big responsibility. You may feel you need a rejuvenation--a booster of some sort! We all want to be the best that we can be, not only for our children and ourselves, but for the God that made us. We all want to be a bit more holy, don't we?
As Father Lukose mentioned during his homily yesterday, on All Saints Day, that we all are called to become more holy. Saints are not to just be encountered in old books, but in our everyday lives. Not in the future when we are older, but right now in the place we are in our lives.
Holy Cross Parish is blessed to have Deacon John Kennedy leading a fabulous Faith Formation Program to guide us and lead us towards being more 'holy'. Each week he offers a chapter of a book and then is available to dialogue with you on your thoughts, questions, and inspirations! Having just prepared your child for their Sacraments of Reconciliation and Sacrament of First Holy Communion, this is a perfect time to continue your own personal preparation and strive to become more holy!
God bless!
