Dear Brothers and Sisters,
No matter how often you celebrate Thanksgiving, each experience is new because life’s circumstances are new. I’m conscious that this has been an extraordinarily difficult year. Our world and lifestyle has been turned upside down. Some have been compelled to shelter in place with one another in close quarters for a long time with the inevitable frustrations and tension. Others have not seen their loved ones in person or held them.
Let us be thankful for the gift of patience and forbearance and for a love that sustains us even when we are apart. I am thankful for all those who have served us during this pandemic, doctors, nurses, scientists, leaders, police, and emergency services, all those serving in any way. My particular thanks to my own staff who continue to minister with diligence and creativity in making this a vibrant parish despite the challenges.
My thanks to my dearest parishioners for your constant prayers, service, and support. I pray this Thanksgiving you will cherish old memories and make some new ones. I hope you will find some time to thank God for his blessings, especially the ones we call family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving!
With Love and Blessings,
Fr Damian
