Dear Youth Ministry Families,
We are writing to notify you that a person with COVID-19 attended our small groups last Wednesday, Nov. 4. In consultation with the Olmsted County Public Health services, it has been determined that the risk for exposure that night was low. Individuals who were in the classroom with the person have received a separate letter. No further action is needed at this time, unless you are notified by Public Health, or develop symptoms.
Since we cannot guarantee all children will remain 6ft apart during Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (for our preschool and elementary school students), we have decided to cancel our last two sessions (Nov. 11 & Nov. 18).
Middle and High School students are able to follow masking and distancing guidelines and will continue to meet the next two weeks.
We understand that this news may create unease. The safety, security, and health of our community is our top priority. Pax Christi will continue to work closely with Olmsted County Public Health Services to identify and alert close contacts, provide health and safety guidance and monitor the situation.
The most important actions each of us can take to further protect yourself, your family, and your community include:
- Wearing proper face coverings when outside your home
- Staying home if you are sick
- Washing your hands often with soap and water; covering your cough and sneeze; avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
- Practicing self-care by eating a healthy diet and taking time to rest
- Avoiding large gatherings
If you or a family member are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) recommends you get tested.
Please join us in praying for the individual infected and for a speedy return to restored health.
If you have additional questions, please contact Zach Rawson, Dana Petricka, Michelle Todd, or Jessica Scully.
Peace,
Zach Rawson
