Dear St. Joseph Parish Family,
We are coming to the end of the liturgical year– the Sunday after Thanksgiving is the first Sunday of Advent. Yes, it's rather early this year. The readings at the Masses during this time consider the end of the world and Christ's second coming. I certainly feel that this year may be the one! Whenever Christ does return, it's good to be ready by living our faith every day. Especially in these difficult times, it's the faith that will give us the inner peace and joy this world cannot provide.
The construction moves forward. Now that the asbestos abatement is completed, we'll start the demolition of Casserly Hall this week and then we can build McGuire Hall from the foundation up. The repairs on the school building have been delayed due to rain the past few weeks, but it will be completed before Thanksgiving. Also, we've been restoring two 19th century marble statues that are a part of the patrimony of this parish. When the restoration is completed we'll put them back in the church. In addition to the statues, we've also been restoring the historic baptismal font that was in use here from 1834 until 1972. We will use it again once it's restored.
God Bless,
Fr. Boniface
