NO Casserole Collection This Month
We were informed by Our Daily Bread that our parish should deliver casseroles every other month only, until further notice. Our delivery months will now be those that are an “even number” [December (12), February (2), etc.]. Thus, we will not be delivering casseroles in November, and our next casserole collection dates will be in December.
Veterans Day Collection Reminder
The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a collection this weekend (November 14/15) in observance of Veterans Day and to salute all of those who defend our nation. Click here for a list of needed items that will be sent to those who serve in the military. If you can contribute any items, please bring them to the Gathering Space of the Main Church and leave them in the marked bins.
Thanksgiving Mass and Food Blessing
We will have our regular morning Mass schedule on Thanksgiving Day. Mass will be at 9:00 AM on Thursday, November 26 with the organ and a cantor. There will also be a food blessing at this Mass. Parishioners are asked to bring food items that cannot be contaminated (cans, wrapped dry goods, etc.) to the Mass and keep the food with them in their pews. After the homily, you can hold up your items (or hold your hand over them) during the food blessing and stay seated to prevent unnecessary movement around the church.
Invitation to Light the Advent Wreath
Sacred Heart parishioners are invited to light the Advent Wreath at Mass during Advent this year! At each weekend Mass, an individual or family will light the wreath. You will process in for the entrance of Mass and stand near the Advent Wreath. (The sacristan or altar server will be nearby with the lite taper to hand to the “tallest” person for lighting the candle.) Stewardship Weekend
November 14/15 is Commitment Weekend for the “Our Path Forward” stewardship initiative! On this weekend, we ask that each parish household submit a sacrificial commitment to the ministry and mission of Sacred Heart Parish. You can also click here to set up your online commitment.
6th Annual Christmas Concert
Friday, December 11 at 7:00 PM in the Main Church
This year’s Christmas Concert features timeless masterpieces for the organ from Buxtehude, Bach, and Brahms, along with many beloved and cherished Christmas hymns and songs. Tickets are $10 each, and proceeds support Sacred Heart School! The concert will be held in person and will adhere to strict COVID-19 safety protocols required by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. If you prefer to enjoy the concert from home this year rather than attend in person, a livestream ticket option is available. Click here for tickets and for more details, or call 410-833-1696. Bereavement Support Group
Holiday seasons are always difficult for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Sacred Heart Parish has a group where we can share experiences and support. For details about the group, please click here for contact information.
