This weekend, we celebrate the feast day of our parish, the Solemnity of Christ the King. Jesus is the king of Heaven and earth. In the Gospels, we see both the natural and supernatural world obey His commands. Scripture declares that all things are subject to Him.
Jesus also wants to be King over your life and your heart. This weekend, would you invite him to rule over you? Would you, with humility, submit to His will in your life?

O Lord our God,
You alone are the Most Holy King
and Ruler of all nations.
We pray to You, Lord, in the great expectation
of receiving from You, O Divine King,
mercy, peace, justice, and all good things.
Protect, O Lord our King,
our families and the land of our birth.
Guard us we pray Most Faithful One.
Protect us from our enemies
and from Your Just Judgment.
Forgive us, O Sovereign King,
our sins against you.
Jesus, You are a King of Mercy.
We have deserved Your Just Judgment
Have mercy on us, Lord, and forgive us.
We trust in Your Great Mercy.

There are times when every one of us experiences difficulties. Christ the King’s Stephen Ministry offers one-to-one pastoral care for individuals experiencing a wide range of life’s stressors – loneliness, loss of a loved one, hospitalization, separation or divorce, spiritual crises, unemployment or job crises, a chronic illness, a terminal illness, aging, relocation, recovery from an illness, miscarriage and/or infertility — at no cost to the receiver. Stephen Ministry trains and organizes laypersons to provide one-to-one Christian care in and around our parish.
A Stephen Minister can meet with you – in-person or remotely, privately and confidentially – on a weekly basis, to listen, care, encourage, support, and remind you of Christ’s presence in your life.

Advent Penance Evenings
December 16 and 17, 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, in the Hyland Center.
Advent is a penitential season - a time when we prepare for the Lord to come by examining our consciences and turning towards the Lord. For the safety of our parish family and priests, this Advent, we’ll host two socially-distanced penance evenings. Priests will be stationed throughout the Hyland Center to hear confessions. Volunteers will help guide you to priests. For additional information, contact Bernadette Flowers at bflowers@ctking.com.

Help Us Provide 1,000 Meals by Giving Tuesday
The Cathedral and Christ the King School are observing Giving Tuesday with a special campaign to support the Compassion Kitchen Project. Compassion Kitchen connects struggling restaurants with hungry Atlanta families struggling to provide food for themselves. The project supports food security while supporting local businesses impacted by COVID-19. We aim to provide 1,000 meals for hungry families this holiday season by raising $25,000 for Compassion Kitchen.
Your gift will go directly towards meals for hungry families. One family meal costs about $25. Would you support at least one meal for a family this holiday season?
