Dear Parishioners-
Too often in our world we come across more and more people who expect more, and at the same time appreciate less. This time of the year can truly counter that way of acting. We especially need to realize how many blessings God has given us, and show our gratitude to God. I hope that you will join us on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, to say Thank You to the God who has given us everything! We’ll have Mass at the Cathedral on this day at 9 AM.
You will find that as we come to know one another, I like to share with you poems that help us to celebrate the various holidays and feasts of the year. And to celebrate the upcoming Thanksgiving Feast, I found a poem which speaks volumes about this day:
How to Observe Thanksgiving
Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth;
Count on God instead of yourself.

May all of you have a blessed Thanksgiving Day!
