As many of you are aware, Governor Larry Hogan recently announced increased safety precautions in response to the surging transmission rates for the Coronavirus. The Archdiocese has continued to review its posture in response to these guidelines. We want to assure you that the measures that the Archdiocese promulgated and which our Church implemented earlier this year continue to meet or exceed the most recent guidance published for both state and local mandates. To review our protocols:
- We continue to place the safety of our parishioners’ and staff as paramount.
- The dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass remains in effect
- Masks must be worn at all times
- Hand sanitizers are available at each entrance for use upon entering the Church
- Seating is restricted to every other pew, and only one family group, or two individuals may occupy any pew
- We have modified the liturgy to increase social distancing, minimize singing, adjusted the distribution of Holy Communion, and taken other measures to minimize the spread of the virus
- The Mass is broadcast on FM 92.1 for those who wish to remain in their vehicles
- The Church is sanitized between Masses
- Capacity must be at 50% or less of the maximum capacity for the facility.
We want to ensure you that we continue to focus on safety in all of our actions, and that our protocols continue to meet or exceed national, state and local guidelines, ordinances, and mandates.
