Grace to you, and peace as we face the challenges of inspiring our people to continue to be good stewards of the resources that God has given to them.
As we enter a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, we are encouraging our churches to ask parishioners to consider the use of electronic giving, using WeShare as a way to support their parishes.
WeShare has played a big role in sustaining our parishes during the spread of COVID-19 by providing an easy and secure way for the faithful to make regular contributions, even while not physically present at Mass. As you know, this Sunday, November 22 is the day we have designated as the WeShare Campaign to provide additional information on the services that the online giving platform provides and an opportunity for parishioners who have not done so already to sign up. If you indicated that you wanted to participate, materials have already been mailed to parishioners for this initiative. In addition, please see the attached fliers to be included in your parish bulletins.
To assist you further, we have prepared the following talking points:
- We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who continue to support our parish during these very difficult times. As you may be aware, our electronic giving, through WeShare, has helped sustain our parish, especially during the months when we could not worship in person.
- This weekend, we are dedicating time and effort to expand our electronic giving base. We are not asking for additional donations, but to consider changing the way you support your parish by using WeShare.
- WeShare is a very simple way for you to continue to financially support our parish. See the flier in this week’s bulletin or contact the parish office if you have any questions.
- We understand that parishioners like to put their envelopes/donations in the offertory basket. You may continue to do so and write WeShare on the front of the empty envelope.
- Finally, thank you for your prayers, which have helped us all get through this year.
It is our hope that the efforts by the archdiocese will assist you in the administration of our parishes.
If you have any questions, you may contact your associate director of parish finance or Kathy Minnihan at WeShare. Her email is kminnihan@4lpi.com.
