The United States contributes to more carbon dioxide emissions per person than anywhere else in the world. One of the largest contributing factors is our diet and use of food. The amount of food wasted in this country is enormous.
There are many reasons for this. For example, some restaurants use portion size as a way to entice or keep customers. Although the restaurant business is certainly curtailed due to the pandemic, things will likely revert when the health crisis ends. There is no harm in asking for portions to be served according to your appetite. The alternative—take leftovers home and be sure to eat them!
