There is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, enriching all who call upon him. (From Romans 10:9-18)
When St. Paul wrote this letter to the people of Rome, there weren’t 2 groups of people more different than those of the Jewish faith and the Greeks, yet St. Paul makes it clear that both share the same Lord. In today’s world, we are divided, unfortunately, by race, citizenship status, political party, religion, denomination, belief in a virus, safety precautions for the pandemic, money, and more. But, my sisters and brothers in Christ, St. Paul’s words still ring true today—the same Lord is Lord of all! We choose to be divided, but God wants us to be one! We are ALL sisters and brothers in Christ and we are ALL children of God! As Christmas draws near, let the joy of Christ’s birth awaken the message of love, compassion, kindness, mercy, and unity and may these grow within you and may they spill forth into the world by your works and your words! The Lord is the Lord of ALL—let us come together to change the world before it’s too late! Amen!
