The deadline for submitting an application is 12/4/20.
Last Day to Sign Up for Spiritual Secret Santa
Fill out
this form by tonight to take part in Cornell Catholic's Spiritual Secret Santa! You will be randomly matched with another member of our community who will pray for you by name during this Advent season. You will know who you are praying for, but you will not know who is praying for you. This will be revealed before Christmas! If you have any questions, please reach out to Jenna (jes544).
Last Week to Enter Holiday Give Away!
This year we will be raffling off copies of "To Thank and Bless: Prayers at Meals."
Click here to enter your name in the raffle by this Saturday, December 5th. You won't want to pass this up! This will be a great book to have on hand to use in prayer before meals. Get your family and friends to join you in the prayers!
Home for the Holidays
The Cornell Catholic staff is hosting a video series called 'Home for the Holidays'. The ministry team will virtually invite you into our homes and share some traditions, cook with you, and more. Find Fr. Dan's video on making an Advent wreath
here and keep an eye out for Matthew's video premiering this Saturday on our
Youtube Channel. As a part of Home for the Holidays
we invite you to submit any photos or recipes throughout this month by emailing Abrey (aaf87). You can submit photos of your Advent wreath if you made one or pictures of other ways you are preparing for the season! We will post the photos on our website and, with your permission, social media. We also will share any recipes submitted by community members, in hopes that we can all stay connected even while we are far apart.
Advent Evening Prayer
During this season of Advent the community will continue to gather on Sundays at 8:30 p.m. for Evening Prayer (Vespers). We will also celebrate Evening Prayer on the seven weekdays before Christmas, on December 17 to 23 at 8:30 p.m.
Fr. Dan will preach a homily at all of these services. Each service is approximately 20 minutes long. Bring your friends and family!
Lectors are needed for each service. There is the opportunity for up to four lectors for each liturgy. Please volunteer for this important liturgical ministry! Email Matthew to sign-up (
mh968). Find more information
here.
Virtual Caroling
Do Advent and Christmas make you want to spread holiday cheer by singing loud for all to hear? If your answer is, "yes!" or even, "I guess," sign up
here to participate in CCC's and ICCC's first ever virtual caroling extravaganza! Our festive virtual creations will be premiered at our Choral Gaudete Sunday Night Prayer on December 13th — a virtual event you won't want to miss! Instrumentalists as well as singers welcome!
Virtual Redlin Room and Jesse Tree Activity
Cornell Catholic will be hosting a Jesse Tree activity this Advent season. Join us at our Virtual Redlin Room on Thursdays from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM to color the Jesse Tree ornament, read the Bible passage associated with each day, and discuss Jesus' lineage. We will start this Thursday, December 2!

Other Faith Opportunities and Suggestions!
Looking to grow your prayer life this Advent? Some suggestions in addition to our programming include: (1) reading a chapter from the Gospel of Luke each day starting today through Christmas (there are 24 chapters), (2) spending time in Adoration (in person or virtually, such as
here), (3)
a free 26-Day Retreat titled 'Unshakeable Joy' led by Cardinal Cantalamessa (retreat master for Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis) and Christ Stefanick
Thomistic Institute Book Club
How can God's existence be proven? What can unaided human reason discover about God? The Thomistic Institute at Cornell invites you to join the third part of it's metaphysics book club. With our guest speakers, we will discuss key topics of natural theology. This event runs Mondays, 4-6PM. For more information on joining, please contact Thomas (tc637).
