Dear Friends of Saint Joseph’s,

I’m sorry to write with sad news. We have just learned of the death of our brother, Fr. Chris Johnson, O.P., who served here at St. Joseph’s and was a good friend to many of us. Fr. Chris was 84 years old and passed away this morning, June 17, at Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne, N.Y.

Funeral arrangements have just been finalized and are as follows:

Tuesday, June 20
St. Vincent Ferrer Church
869 Lexington Avenue

6:45 p.m.: Reception of the Body
7:00 p.m.: Viewing
8:00 p.m.: Office of the Dead

Wednesday, June 21
10:00 a.m.: Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent Ferrer
(Fr. Ken Letoile, O.P., celebrant and Fr. Walter Wagner, O.P., preacher)

12:30 p.m.: Burial at All Souls Cemetery, 175 Marble Avenue, Pleasantville
Reception to follow at Holy Innocents Parish, 431 Bedford Road, Pleasantville

Eternal rest grant unto your servant, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
