Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This weekend, we celebrate the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. We celebrate the great gift of the Eucharist. The Fathers of the Second Vatican Council described the Eucharist as “the source and summit of our faith.” All of the grace and power that we need for our lives of holiness comes from the Eucharist because it is here that the sacrifice of Christ is made present and we receive the salvation that he won for us. The Eucharist is what gives meaning to our lives. Why? Because it is here that we receive the new life promised by Christ. Every time we come to the Eucharist, we receive an invitation - an invitation to go deeper with Christ our Lord – to understand more deeply what it is to live as his disciple.
What makes this feast even more joyful is to have Fr. Jeremy Bock come and celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving. Heartfelt congratulations to him. We all know what a great priest he will be. It is a wonderful tradition in our Church to receive the blessing of a newly ordained priest. Fr. Jeremy will be available after Mass to impart his priestly blessing at the reception in the Pace Center.
This Sunday is also Father’s Day. Congratulations to all dads and
thanks for your fatherly care.
God bless,
Fr. Tony
