As we continue moving forward in this CV19, with interruptions and disruptions, the life and ministry fo the church continues forward, especially with our school. Each month we need to receive approximately $5,500 in local church budget offerings, with $1,000 immediately going to the school subsidy, and $2,000 for our mortgage.
For the past several months we have been declining in our monthly offerings, with giving often about $3,000 less per month than what we need. Our finances are in very tight at the moment, and we owe it to each of our members to be transparent regarding our status and needs, so you, and others, may respond accordingly.
One question which has arisen is this: doesn’t tithe cover our local church budget? The answer is no. Every dollar marked on the tithe envelope (paper or online) under the category tithe, goes directly to the Texas Conference, then up the administrative chain of the Union, NAD, and finally General Conference.
For any gifts to be applied to the local church in Lewisville, they need to be marked under the “Local Church Budget” line. Every dollar given here stays local, and providers for the needs and ministries of our church. This can be quite confusing, and we apologize if that hasn’t been communicated clearly at times.
Thank you for your continued faithfulness in giving, as God has blessed you, even in these interesting times of 2020!
