What's New: On behalf of the faculty and staff at Our Lady of Peace, I want to offer a sincere thank you to all of the parents, families, and friends responsible for showering us with gifts of food and signs of gratitude over this last week.
Why It's Important: Making the decision to transition our K-8 classrooms to distance learning over these next 20 school days was incredibly difficult, and not something any one of us on the staff wanted to do. With a heavy heart, we knew it would be met by disappointment from our students and their families. Therefore, arriving at campus last Friday to be greeted by banners of support hung across the front lawn, a Joy Cart donated by Honey & Rye, a free Jimmy John's lunch, and then to have the teacher's lounge stocked with snacks, drinks, and letters of encouragement was exactly what the doctor ordered.
What's Next: Thank you, to those that coordinated this effort, as well as those who contributed. I can assure you that the staff and I will spend these remaining 17 days of distance learning earning each one of those gifts by ensuring your students receive the best possible experience and that we are ready to hit the ground running when we return to campus on January 11th.
